day1 :

Arrival in Cartagena

Arrival in Cartagena, also known as “El Corralito de Piedra.” Reception and transfer from Rafael Núñez Airport to the selected hotel. Check-in and accommodation.

Notes: Night transfers apply to flights between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Rates are for daytime transfers; an additional fee applies for night transfers (consult your advisor).

day2 :

Cartagena: City Tour with San Felipe Castle

At the agreed time, meet in the hotel lobby with one of our representatives to begin a wonderful tour of this “museum city,” where the streets and surroundings showcase a charming mix of colonial, republican, and modern architecture. The tour will pass through the modern Bocagrande area and continue through the Manga neighborhood, where the contrast between republican architecture and modern buildings is striking. The tour will include a visit to the emblematic San Felipe de Barajas Castle, built in 1657. A short walk through the historic center—which, along with San Felipe Castle and its fortifications, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984—is a must. Before returning to the hotel, visitors will explore the Emerald Museum, learning about the world’s rarest and most valuable mineral.

Includes: Air-conditioned transport, professional guide, entrance to San Felipe Castle and the Emerald Museum. Operation: Daily Regular Service: Monday to Friday at 2:00 PM; Saturdays and Sundays at 9:00 AM Duration: Approximately 4 hours

day3 :

Cartagena: Beach Day

Breakfast. Departing from La Bodeguita Dock on a speedboat toward the designated island, where visitors can enjoy coral beaches and diverse reef fauna. Activities such as diving, snorkeling, and hiking are available.

Island options:

  • San Pedro de Majagua: Located on Isla Grande, 45 km from Cartagena, part of the Rosario Islands National Natural Park. After a one-hour speedboat ride, visitors arrive at this magical place offering two beach access points—one quieter and the other livelier. Optional activities include relaxing massages, mangrove tours, visits to the Aquarium, diving, and snorkeling.

Includes: Hotel-dock-hotel transfers, shared speedboat transport, welcome cocktail, lunch (starter, main dish, non-alcoholic drink, and dessert), and dock tax.

Does not include: Optional activities and additional expenses.

Operation: Daily except January 1.

Duration: Approximately 6.5 hours (shared service).

Restrictions: Not suitable for pregnant women or individuals with spine injuries due to boat movement. Access denied to intoxicated individuals or pets.

  • Isla del Encanto: In the Rosario Islands National Park, 45 minutes by speedboat from Cartagena, this island offers beach areas and shared spaces with loungers and sunbeds. Visitors can enjoy a semi-buffet lunch with fish, chicken, and meat options.

Includes: Shared speedboat transport (Cartagena–Isla del Encanto–Cartagena), buffet lunch (with a non-alcoholic drink).

Does not include: Hotel transfers (some hotels offer courtesy transfers to the dock, but return transport is not included), dock tax (~$7), optional activities, towels (recommended to bring from Cartagena).

day4 :

International departure

Breakfast. Final day—make sure to take home your best memories. At the indicated time, transfer from the hotel to Cartagena Airport for the flight back home.

All rates are expressed in US dollars, per person, based on double occupancy and are subject to change without notice.

ITINERARY
All our itineraries have been very carefully prepared taking your trip’s best operation into account. However, changing the order of some tours or routes might be necessary in some cases. Although these changes occur in few instances, the itinerary details should be taken as a basic guide.

AIR TICKETS
If Colourful Peru oversees buying and issuing local-flight tickets, their prices may vary until the date of the flight’s booking and payment. Furthermore, the airline might change the flight number as well as its departure hour.

Once the flight reservation and payment are made, the latter will not be reimbursable. Changes regarding name, flight, route, trip’s date or cancellations are not allowed.

Hotel reservations that are not part of an organized trip

Cancellations and Reimbursements  

  • All reserve cancellations or annulments shall be communicated by email from Monday to Friday. In case the communication is made on Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday will be considered as the date of receipt.
  • If the cancellation or annulment is received 31 days before the date of entry to the hotel, the payment is reimbursable discounting administrative expenses.
  • If the cancellation or annulment is received between 16 and 30 days before the date of entry to the hotel, Colourful Peru will charge 50% of the total payment as a penalty.
  • In case of no-show or if the cancellation or annulment is received 15 days or less before the check-in date, the payment will not be refunded.

Booked trips

Cancellations and Reimbursements

  • All reserve cancellations or annulments shall be communicated by email from Monday to Friday, in case the communication is made on Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday will be considered as the date of receipt.
  • The email shall have the necessary information to be immediately attended.
  • If the cancellation or annulment is received up to 35 days before the booked trip’s start, the payment is reimbursable discounting administrative expenses.
  • If the cancellation or annulment is received between 16 and 34 days before the booked trip’s start, Colourful Peru will charge 50% of the total payment as a penalty.
  • If the cancellation or annulment is received 15 days or less before booked trip’s start, the payment will not be refunded.
  • On rare occasions, some tours can be affected or cancelled by climate conditions, riots, force majeure, etc. which are beyond the control of the airlines, hotels, suppliers or Live Corporation. In those cases, the company will not issue a refund.

(*) Note: some suppliers consider stricter cancellation conditions, consequently, they reserve the right to charge additional fees for other penalties in such cases.

Regarding the Inca Trail: the reserve is subject to its payment and there will not be reimbursements in case of cancellations, moreover, neither name nor date changes are allowed.

During peak season, the company reserves the right to change the cancellation regulations in case the suppliers apply other penalties or make the aforementioned changes.

LIABILITY
Live Corporation carries out your trip’s arrangements, books transfer services, hotel rooms or other travel services required on your behalf, consequently, the company takes no responsibility for the loss of items, flight or tours delays due to events of force majeure, accidents or other events.

Important!
Live Corporation disclaims any liability for medical conditions, pregnancy, mental or physical limitations that might put at risk the health or integrity of the passenger or third parties during the operation of the booked tours or that might jeopardize the trip’s progress. Therefore, the company will not be obliged to any refunds or to address claims regarding the aforementioned reasons, even when there are not noticeable problems in normal circumstances.

Given this, it is important for the passengers to inform the company whether there is any of the aforementioned impediments, so we can offer and suggest suitable services according to the existing limitations.

WEATHER

Cartagena de Indias has a warm tropical climate year-round, with temperatures ranging between 24°C and 32°C. The city has two distinct seasons:

  • Dry season (December to April) – Ideal for enjoying the sun and beaches.
  • Rainy season (May to November) – Rainfall is brief but frequent, mostly in the afternoons. Despite the rain, the weather remains pleasant and rarely disrupts tourist activities.

TIME ZONE

Colombia’s time zone is GMT -5, the same as Peru, Mexico, and New York during daylight savings. When it is noon in Cartagena, the time in other major cities is:

  • New York: 1:00 PM

Cartagena does not pose altitude-related health risks. However, due to its hot and humid climate, staying hydrated and using sunscreen frequently is highly recommended. While the city’s water is treated, consuming bottled water is advisable to prevent any potential stomach discomfort.

VISA

To check visa requirements for entering Colombia, contact the nearest Colombian consulate, as policies may change. You can also visit the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs website for updated information. 

LANGUAGE

The official language of Colombia is Spanish. In tourist areas like Cartagena, many guides, hotels, and restaurants have staff who speak English.

ELECTRICITY

Colombia operates on 110V and 60Hz. If your electronic devices run on a different voltage, bring an adapter or transformer for safe use.

COLOMBIAN GASTRONOMY

Cartagena’s cuisine reflects its Caribbean, African, and Spanish heritage. Some must-try dishes include:

  • Fried fish with patacones (plantain chips)
  • Sancocho (traditional stew)
  • Arepa de huevo (fried corn cake with egg)
